The Fireside Lodge opened its doors in December, 1946.
Originally it had eight one and two bedroom brick cottages with weeping mortar. Over the years other units were added. In over 62 years the lodge has known only 4 owners.
June 28, 1992 Big Bear Lake was hit by a huge 6.4 magnitude earthquake which left much of the old buildings in the area destroyed. Unfortunately the Fireside Lodge did not go undamaged and much was rebuilt. Late 1992 the Lodge was reopened to the current 32 units.
January 2000 the current owners took possession of the Lodge and began an extensive remodel and upgrade of the property to what it is today.
Many happy memories have been made and shared by our family over the generations and we invite you to "come up the hill" and make some memories of your own. |
